IDA'S NOVEL AT THE HUNGARIAN FILM FESTIVAL - WITH AUDIENCE MEETING
Ida marries through a classified advertisement, and their mutual resentment is eventually replaced by tender feelings. Géza Gárdonyi's romantic novel was adapted by Krisztina Goda, director of Just Sex and Nothing Else.
Raised by nuns, 18-year-old Ida's father is unhappy about her return home and wants her to marry as soon as possible. A young painter applies for a small advertisement promising a substantial dowry. After the marriage, Ida and Csaba Balogh's mutual dislike is replaced by mutual acceptance, and the forced coexistence may even bring love. This is the third film adaptation of Géza Gárdonyi's popular romantic novel. The naivety, purity and charm of the story, set in the 1920s, captured the imagination of director Krisztina Goda, who once again worked with her proven co-writer, Réka Divinyi.
