Pécsi Balett: Piroska és a farkas mesebalett egy részben

In 2020, the Pécs Ballet adapted the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf for the dance stage, choreographed by Zsolt Molnár, the company's outstanding talented dancer. The young choreographer is assisted and supported by Teodóra Uhrik, a Kossuth and Liszt Prize-winning artist of merit, who is the director of the ballet. Her many years of professional experience and knowledge guarantee the professional realisation of the production.
In addition to their outstanding dance skills, the dancers of the Pécs Ballet have a unique ability to create characters, thus they are able to promote the art of dance and educate young people in the theatre in a special language of dance that is understandable to everyone.
"Our story begins in a ballet hall. Red Riding Hood and her partners are preparing for the premiere of a new dance performance. In the rehearsal room, while practising, she receives the news that her grandmother has fallen ill and she needs to bring her something to eat immediately. Her best friend offers to accompany her, so they set off together to visit her mother. The mother hands them a basket full of food and asks the youngsters to hurry. The road to the grandmother's house leads through the forest. Two lovely gentle little animals join the youngsters on the way. Little Red Riding Hood is delighted with her new friends and forgets about the basket. When she runs back to get it, she meets an old man who wonders what's in the basket and where Red Riding Hood is going. The poor girl doesn't know that the old man is really a wolf in disguise. You probably know the rest of the story. In our version, the wolf is punished a little differently, but as usual in fairy tales, all's well that ends well!
We tell you the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf with lots of humour and surprises in the special language of dance. Come, we are waiting for you!"
