In France, the restorative justice system has been working since 2014 to bring perpetrators and victims into dialogue in a safe environment, with the help of experts and volunteers. But for this to work, both sides have to want to. You have to overcome anger or shame, and believe that there is hope. That what they have mutually experienced is not irreparable.
