Eden is based on a true story, and although it is not known exactly what happened in the 1930s on the Galápagos island of Floreana, the characters in the film all existed in reality, and descendants of the Wittmer couple still live there today... Doctor-philosopher Dr Ritter and his wife start a new life on the picturesque but uninhabited island of Floreana, far from civilisation. Following their example, the Wittmer couple, who also want to settle down, arrive on the island, as does Baroness Eloise and her entourage, who want to open a hotel on the island. With all the new arrivals, paradise is slowly turning into hell. Not everyone is prepared for the harsh conditions, and it is only a matter of time before the three very different and unsympathetic groups turn on each other. And when they do, no one will be safe.
