As a result of an absurd referendum, the official language of Switzerland becomes French only. The decision is causing a serious crisis, especially among the German-speaking population. The main character of the story is Walter Egli, a police officer who is responsible for the introduction of monolingualism. Although he himself speaks very little French, he is sent to Ticino with his French-speaking colleague to dismantle a resistance group operating there.
Bonjour, Switzerland! deals with the absurdity of language policy issues in an ironic and satirical style (Uránia Film)
