Oksana Sacsko, a newly graduated Ukrainian painter, is increasingly outraged by the sexual exploitation of women in her country and in Russia, the rise of dictatorship and the dwindling power of religious leaders. Oksana uses art as a means to fight the regime and leads the formation of a radical feminist group, FEMEN, whose members demonstrate provocatively, using their bodies as weapons. Their lives are in danger when their spectacular successes come to the attention of political leaders. Oxana is not just a portrait of an activist. It is the story of a determined young woman trying to redefine herself and change the unjust world around her. The film, full of emotion and revolutionary fervour, was partly shot in Budapest with a Hungarian crew.
