The touching story of Vuk, the orphaned fox cub, remains the most popular full-length Hungarian animated film to date. Director Attila Dargay did not turn his back on the Walt Disney traditions he held in high regard: István Fekete's emotional story and Dargay's cheerful characters appeal to the child's soul. At the beginning of this well-known story, the fox family welcomes a new addition. All the newborns are lively, but one of them is particularly mischievous. The parents believe he takes after his grandfather, so they name him Vuk. When he is orphaned, his uncle, the famous Karak, takes the little fox under his wing. He takes him into his cave and teaches him to hunt. Vuk proves to be a clever student and, to Karak's great delight, grows into a brave fox. He also proves his cleverness when he rescues a female fox from the hunter's captivity...
